Stumbled upon entrepreneur who was (nearly) extorted by Revolut employees

Here is proof where Revolut admits this:

This is what happens when you go cheapskate mode and hire customer service monkeys from all over the world and let them deal with very sensitive data. EMIs should stop doing this
I don’t think we should believe everything. he may have faked this too. Maybe he is missing some details.

Didn’t have any problems with revolut so far tbh.

Saw this today is all around X. The user is highly known in the Web3 industry. My experience has been positive with Revolut. I've used it casually, but many people had frozen accounts and daily tax residency document check ups. IMO, I never recommend funding a lot of money or doing high number transactions with a digital bank. You'll never know what can happen, but the system works and is functional in emergencies. In terms of cryptocurrency features as a digital banking platform, they are one of the best. Debatable

I agree with the comments here that you don't know if the user did anything himself that possibly caused this. That's a possibility. But there is a clear trend regarding account freezing, continuous KYC checks for months on end, and incompetent service staff from developing countries with EMIs. The latter, in particular, simply has to change if one wants to be taken seriously at some point and I hope that it will change industry-wide. Of course, I don't hold that hope. Money institutions are not there in your best interest after all

you are joking, right? :bored:
With a corporate account you can buy crypto (at stupid prices) but you can’t send them 🤣
And recently, in order to continue “enjoying” their crypto services you have been requested to go through another round of interrogations, plus to produce a LEI. I refused and now crypto is disabled on my corporate account.

Of course buying crypto there is a big NO, and you can buy crypto in many other better exchanges, but like I said, in emergencies the platform is functional and the service of crypto to fiat is good while the amount is small. I know people who were born in countries under strict international sanctions who face real barriers to accessing financial services abroad, and Revolut is the only bank they can use and has been life saving for them. That's why Im saying the platform is good to use on some occasions, not daily, but if you don't have any other option like the example I said, it could not be that bad.
