Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh have signed an agreement for the avoidance of double taxation. The accord was signed by Faruk Khan, the visiting Bangladeshi minister of commerce, and Hamad S. Al-Bazai, Saudi Vice Minister of Finance.

“Signing such an important agreement is yet another milestone in the excellent relations between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia,” Mr Khan said during the signing ceremony, which was attended by top Saudi and Bangladeshi officials including Shahidul Islam, Bangladesh Ambassador to Saudi Arabia.

Referring to the progressively growing relations between Riyadh and Dhaka, Khan said that the avoidance of double taxation accord would go a long way in, “facilitating further cooperation between the two brotherly nations.” Khan, who had several meetings with senior officials and business leaders in Riyadh, discussed means for further enhancement of cooperation, particularly in the fields of investment and trade.
